RV College of Nursing – Eligibility Criteria

RV College of Nursing Bangalore is renowned for its nursing courses. This institute offers undergraduate program B.Sc. Nursing and 2 specialisations in postgraduate program M.Sc Nursing. The students can join the nursing courses under government or management quota. For taking admission under government quota, the interested students need to clear the KEA entrance exam to join RV College of nursing and pursue a course of their choice successfully. Nursing aspirants who wish to take admission to either of the nursing courses must meet the eligibility criteria as well.

Course Eligibility

B.Sc. in Nursing

Candidates must pass Class 12 examinations or equivalent exams with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least 45% aggravate marks.

M.Sc. In Nursing

(Medical – Surgical Nursing)

Candidates require to pass B.Sc in Nursing with minimum 55% aggregate marks. Also, a candidate needs have at least 1 year of experience after completing B.Sc in Nursing course successfully.

M.Sc Nursing (Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing)

Candidates should have completed B.Sc in Nursing with minimum 55% aggregate marks. He/She must have at least 1 year of experience after completing B.Sc in Nursing.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc. In Nursing

The minimum eligibility criteria for the interested students to apply for the 4-years duration undergraduate course/B.Sc. in Nursing are as follows:

  • Must have cleared 12th standard or equivalent exams prescribed by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences RGUHS with core Science subjects – Physics, Chemistry & Biology.
  • A candidate needs to obtain at least 45% in all the Science Subjects and as well as in English in the last qualifying exam.
  • An interested candidate must be at least 17 years old while applying for the admission to the UG course or will be of this particular age on or before 31st December of the admission year. 

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc. In Nursing

The minimum eligibility criteria for the students to apply for the 2-years course that is spread across two streams – Medical Surging Nursing and Psychiatric (Mental Health) Nursing are as follows:

  • A candidate applying for the postgraduation course irrespective of the specialization must have a B.Sc. in Nursing or Post Basic B.Sc. in Nursing Certificate.
  • Minimum one year of working experience after B.Sc. Nursing
  • A candidate, who belongs to General Category, must have obtained at least 55% in aggregate in the undergraduate program, whereas, for an SC/ST candidate, the aggregate marks is 50% at the admission time. 
  • The age limit for a General Category candidate is 48 years, whereas, for an SC/ST candidate, the age limit is 50 years.
