Alliance University, Bangalore - Overview

Karnataka set up Alliance University through a state act in 2010, and in fifteen years the place has grown into one of South India's better-known private universities. This Alliance University overview covers what students actually want to know before applying.

The campus spreads across green grounds near Anekal, roughly 25 km south of central Bengaluru, far enough to escape the city noise yet close to its tech corridors. Alliance University Bangalore runs schools in business, engineering, law, design, sciences, and liberal arts, with the UGC recognising it and AACSB membership backing its business programs.

Courses Offered

More than 20 programs run across ten-plus schools here. Undergraduate students pick from B.Tech, BBA, BCom (Hons), BA LLB, BBA LLB, BCA, and design degrees. The Alliance University academic programs at PG level cover MBA, M.Tech, MCA, LLM, M.Des, MA, and M.Sc, with doctoral research on top.

Eligibility depends on the course. B.Tech asks for Class 12 with 50 percent in Physics and Maths, MBA wants a bachelor's degree with 50 percent, and law programs follow their own cutoffs. Reserved categories get the usual relaxation.

Admission Process

Undergraduate seats run mostly on AUSAT, the university's own test, though B.Tech also takes JEE Main, KCET, or COMEDK, and law courses accept CLAT or LSAT. A personal interview follows. For MBA, candidates clear AMAT or bring a CAT, XAT, NMAT, or GMAT score, then face an Oral Extempore round. PhD applicants take ARAT plus an interview. Applications open online at alliance.edu.in.

Student Life

Anekal's green campus keeps students busy outside lectures. Annual fests, moot court competitions like the Justice N. Santosh Hegde National event, and clubs across music, theatre, and debate fill the calendar. The university also hosts the Global Leaders' Alliance program, which adds an international angle.

Sports run wide, from cricket grounds to indoor courts. Students from over 20 countries study here, so the campus carries a genuinely mixed crowd.

Alliance hands out merit, sports, category-based, and need-based awards. Female candidates scoring 70 percentile or above in CAT or XAT, along with a steady 60 percent academic record, receive a 15 percent fee waiver. A GMAT score of 550 plus earns the same. Alumni scholarships, defence quota concessions, and national-level sportsperson awards round out the list.
