M.S Ramaiah Institute of Nursing Education and Research – Eligibility Criteria

Ramaiah Institute of Nursing Education and Research offers 7 nursing courses that include both the UG and PG courses. All the courses offered by this college are recognized by Govt of Karnataka. However, to get admission under government quota, the students need to have the eligible scores in the qualifying examinations. The M. S Ramaiah Institute of Nursing Education primarily offers the following courses and is one of the premium nursing colleges in Bangalore. .

Course Eligibility

B.Sc. Nursing

Candidates seeking admission in the undergraduate courses in nursing must have obtained a minimum of 45% in aggregate in the 10+2 examination and for SC/ST candidates, 45% is the minimum marks required in the qualifying exam. 

M.Sc. Nursing

Candidates seeking admission in the postgraduate courses in nursing must have cleared the B.Sc Nursing degree from an RGUHS affiliated or Govt. registered college or hospital with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.

B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic)

The aspiring students must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examinations and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) to pursue the certificate program.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc Nursing

Other eligibility criteria for the interested students to apply for the 4-years B.Sc. Nursing course are as follows:

  • The candidate must have passed 10+2 with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects
  • The age of the candidate at the time of admission must be equal to or above 17 years
  • The candidate must not be above the age of 30 years at the time of admission
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST category have the upper age relaxation up to 35 years

Eligibility Criteria for M.Sc Nursing

Other eligibility criteria for the students to apply for the 2-years M.Sc. Nursing course are as follows:

  • The SC/ST candidates need to secure at least 50% marks in B.Sc. Nursing in aggregate
  • The candidate must have one-year working experience as a nurse in any hospital or organization registered under Govt. of Karnataka
  • The upper age limit is 50 years for the SC/ST candidates and 48 years for the rest.

Eligibility Criteria for B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic)

Other eligibility criteria for the students to apply for the 2-years B.Sc Nursing (Post Basic)course are as follows:

  • The candidate must be registered with the State Nursing Council as a registered midwife and registered nurse.
  • The candidate should produce the eligibility certificate from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka.
