The CUET exam 2026 is the doorway to undergraduate seats at roughly 300 participating universities, among them big central names like Delhi University, BHU, and JNU. Held by the National Testing Agency (NTA) under the Ministry of Education, the Common University Entrance Test runs entirely in CBT mode.
For this cycle, the UG papers ran from May 11 to June 7, 2026, and the provisional answer key came out on June 9, 2026. We at EduDunia keep every stage, from the first application date through to results, current for you on one page.

The bar for sitting the exam is low by design:
So while NTA opens the exam widely, the fine print on eligibility often lives with the university you are targeting.
The CUET 2026 application form stayed open at cuet.nta.nic.in from January 3 to February 4, 2026. Registration ran fully online, and candidates worked through a few clear steps:
The CUET syllabus rests on NCERT Class 12 content. Domain papers follow the prescribed subjects, sitting alongside language papers and a General Test that spans current affairs, reasoning, and basic quantitative aptitude. One notable change this year: domain subjects were trimmed from 27 down to 23.
Each subject paper runs for 60 minutes and carries 50 questions. The marking rewards precision, with +5 for a correct answer and -1 for a wrong one. Under UGC's revised rule, candidates may now pick subjects they did not actually study in Class 12, which opens up fresh combinations for many students.
NTA put out the admit card on May 5, 2026, at cuet.nta.nic.in. Ahead of that, on April 29, a city intimation slip let candidates see their exam city and shift early, giving them time to sort out travel and logistics before the admit card itself arrived.
The exam spanned hundreds of centres across the country. Each candidate was assigned a centre based on the cities they picked during registration, with the city intimation slip and admit card confirming the final location, date, and shift.
The CUET UG 2026 result is expected in the fourth week of July 2026. Scorecards will lay out subject-wise marks, an NTA score out of 1000, and percentile figures, and will be available both on the official portal and through DigiLocker.
A broad spread of central, state, private, and deemed universities accepts CUET scores for UG admission. Each one sets and announces its own counselling and merit-list dates once results are declared, so keep an eye on your target university's portal after the result drops.
Start from the official NTA syllabus, work steadily through previous years' papers, and build a habit of regular mock tests. Manage your minute-per-question pace carefully, and always weigh the negative marking before attempting anything you are unsure of.
